Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta
Ingredients (Serves 2–3)
- 8 oz (225 g) pasta (spaghetti, fettuccine, or penne)
- 1 lb (450 g) shrimp, peeled & deveined
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional for spice)
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley
- Juice of ½ lemon
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook pasta
- Boil pasta in salted water according to package directions. Drain, reserving ½ cup pasta water.
- Cook shrimp
- In a large skillet, melt 2 tbsp butter over medium heat.
- Add garlic and red pepper flakes; sauté 30 seconds.
- Add shrimp, season with salt & pepper, cook 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from skillet.
- Make sauce
- Add remaining butter to skillet.
- Toss in cooked pasta, shrimp, and reserved pasta water to loosen sauce.
- Stir in Parmesan, lemon juice, and parsley.
- Serve
- Plate immediately. Optional: extra Parmesan or a sprinkle of chili flakes.
