Zesty Lemon Butter Fish Fillet

Servings: 2โ€“3

Ingredients

  • 2โ€“3 fish fillets (tilapia, cod, or haddock)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional for color and flavor)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prep the fish
    • Pat fish fillets dry and season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Cook the fish
    • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Add fish and cook 3โ€“4 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through. Remove and keep warm.
  3. Make the lemon butter sauce
    • In the same skillet, melt butter.
    • Add garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Stir in lemon juice and zest. Let simmer 1โ€“2 minutes to blend flavors.
  4. Serve
    • Pour the lemon butter sauce over the fish.
    • Garnish with chopped parsley.
    • Serve with rice, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.

Tips & Variations

  • For extra zest, add a little lemon slices on top while cooking.
  • Add capers or a splash of white wine to the sauce for a tangy twist.
  • Use nonstick or cast-iron skillet to prevent sticking and keep fillets intact.
