Ah yes — Texas Trash Dip is pure game-day, party-snack magic 🤠🔥

Texas Trash Dip

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 can (4 oz) diced green chilies, drained
  • ½ cup chopped jalapeños (fresh or pickled, adjust heat to taste)
  • ½ cup cooked and crumbled bacon (optional but highly recommended)
  • ½ cup chopped green onions
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika (optional, for depth)
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Optional garnish: extra chopped green onions, diced tomatoes, or cilantro

For serving:

  • Tortilla chips, crackers, or toasted bread

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven
    • 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix Ingredients
    • In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar, Monterey Jack, green chilies, jalapeños, bacon, green onions, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Bake
    • Transfer mixture to an oven-safe dish.
    • Bake 20–25 minutes, until bubbly and lightly golden on top.
  4. Serve
    • Serve hot with tortilla chips or crackers.
    • Optional garnish with extra green onions or a sprinkle of diced tomatoes.

Tips & Variations

  • Slow cooker version: Cook on LOW 1–2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • Extra heat: Add more jalapeños, a dash of cayenne, or diced pickled serranos.
  • Cheesy overload: Mix in pepper jack or mozzarella for stretchiness.
  • Make it meaty: Add cooked sausage or ground beef for a loaded dip.
