Taco Bell Nacho Fries

Here’s a copycat recipe for Taco Bell–style Nacho Fries—crispy seasoned fries with cheesy sauce that you can make at home 🍟🧀


🌮 Nacho Fries (Taco Bell Copycat)

Ingredients (serves 2–4)

Fries:

  • 2–3 large russet potatoes, cut into fries
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Nacho Cheese Sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or a mix of cheddar + American)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Prep the fries
    • Toss cut potatoes with oil, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
    • Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 25–30 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and crispy.
      (Or deep fry for extra crispiness.)
  2. Make the cheese sauce
    • In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
    • Whisk in flour and cook 1 minute to form a roux.
    • Slowly whisk in milk until smooth.
    • Add shredded cheese, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and salt. Stir until melted and creamy.
  3. Serve
    • Pour cheese sauce over fries and enjoy hot!
    • Optional toppings: diced jalapeños, cooked ground beef, or sour cream for a loaded version.

💡 Tips

  • For extra crispiness, soak potato fries in cold water for 30 minutes before baking.
  • Use a mix of cheeses for a richer, creamier sauce.
  • You can air-fry the fries for a lighter version.
