🥩 Slow Cooker Ribs

🛒 Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 2–3 lbs (900–1350g) pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
  • Salt & pepper to taste

  1. Prep the ribs: Remove the silver skin/membrane from the back of the ribs for more tender results.
  2. Season: Mix brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Rub this mixture all over the ribs.
  3. Place in slow cooker: Curl the ribs so they fit, meat side up.
  4. Add BBQ sauce: Pour half of the BBQ sauce over the ribs. Save the rest for basting later.
  5. Cook: Low for 6–8 hours or High for 3–4 hours, until meat is tender and starts pulling away from the bone.
  6. Optional finish (oven/grill):
    • Preheat broiler or grill.
    • Brush ribs with remaining BBQ sauce.
    • Broil/grill 3–5 minutes until sauce caramelizes.

🍽 Tips

  • For extra flavor, add 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar or a splash of cola to the slow cooker.
  • Pair with coleslaw, baked beans, or roasted veggies.
  • Leftovers freeze well—just reheat and brush with extra sauce.
