Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450 g) carrots, peeled and sliced into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 2–3 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar (or honey/maple syrup)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon or nutmeg (optional for warmth)
  • 1/4 cup water or orange juice (for extra flavor)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prep the carrots: Peel and cut the carrots into uniform slices or sticks so they cook evenly.
  2. Combine ingredients in the slow cooker:
    • Add the carrots, butter, brown sugar, salt, pepper, and optional cinnamon/nutmeg.
    • Pour in the water or orange juice.
  3. Cook:
    • Cover and cook on low for 3–4 hours or high for 1.5–2 hours, until the carrots are tender.
  4. Glaze:
    • Stir the carrots gently to coat them in the melted butter and sugar mixture.
    • Optional: If you want a thicker glaze, uncover and cook on high for an extra 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Serve:
