Here’s a simple, classic salmon loaf recipe—easy and budget-friendly 👍

Salmon Loaf (serves 4–6)

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (14–15 oz each) salmon, drained (remove skin/bones if you want)
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup soft breadcrumbs or crushed crackers
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup finely chopped onion (optional)
  • 1–2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp melted butter or oil
  • ½–1 tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • Optional: parsley, dill, or garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Flake the salmon in a bowl.
  3. Add eggs, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, lemon juice, butter, salt, pepper, and any herbs.
  4. Mix gently until combined.
  5. Press into a greased loaf pan.
  6. Bake 45–55 minutes, until firm and lightly golden.
  7. Let rest 5–10 minutes, then slice.

Serving ideas

  • Top with white sauce, dill sauce, or ketchup.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or green beans.
  • Leftovers are great cold in sandwiches.

Tips

  • Too dry? Add a little more milk.
  • Too soft? Add more breadcrumbs.
  • You can bake it in a casserole dish if you don’t have a loaf pan.
