Pizza rolls

Ahhh pizza rolls—crispy, cheesy, dunkable little happiness bombs 😄
Whether you mean homemade or the nostalgic frozen kind, here’s the good stuff.


🍕 Homemade Pizza Rolls (way better than frozen)

Ingredients (makes ~24)

  • 1 can pizza dough or crescent dough
  • ¾–1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • ½ cup pepperoni (or sausage, mushrooms, etc.)
  • ¼ cup pizza sauce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • Optional: parmesan, chili flakes

How to make them

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F / 205°C.
  2. Roll dough out and cut into 2-inch squares.
  3. Add a small spoon of sauce, cheese, and toppings to each square.
  4. Fold corners together and pinch tightly to seal.
  5. Place seam-side down on a lined baking sheet.
  6. Brush with oil or butter; sprinkle garlic powder & seasoning.
  7. Bake 12–15 minutes until golden.
  8. Cool slightly (cheese lava is real).

Serve with warm marinara for dipping.


Air fryer method

  • 375°F for 6–8 minutes, shaking halfway.

Pro tips

  • Less filling = better sealing.
  • Pinch edges well or use a fork to crimp.
  • Let them rest 3–5 minutes before biting.
  • Freeze before baking for make-ahead snacks.

Fun variations

  • Breakfast rolls: scrambled eggs, sausage, cheese
  • Buffalo chicken: chicken + buffalo sauce + mozzarella
  • Pepperoni pizza bombs: extra cheese, extra crisp
  • Dessert rolls: Nutella + sugar (no sauce)
