Pioneer Woman cheeseburger pie

Posted on December 18, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a copycat-style Pioneer Woman Cheeseburger Pie—a hearty, cheesy, comforting casserole that tastes just like a cheeseburger in pie form.

Pioneer Woman Cheeseburger Pie

Servings: 6–8

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 (9-inch) refrigerated pie crust (or homemade)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes (optional, drained)
  • Pickles, ketchup, and mustard for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish.
  2. Cook beef
    • In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until beef is browned and onion is softened.
    • Drain excess fat.
    • Stir in garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  3. Prepare pie crust
    • Place pie crust in pie dish, pressing it into edges.
    • Optional: prick bottom with fork.
  4. Assemble pie
    • Spread half of the cooked beef mixture in the pie crust.
    • Layer 1 cup cheddar cheese and mozzarella (if using).
    • Top with remaining beef and cheese.
    • Optional: add diced tomatoes or pickles inside.
  5. Make custard
    • In a small bowl, whisk eggs and milk.
    • Pour over layered beef and cheese.
  6. Bake
    • Bake 30–35 minutes until egg mixture is set and cheese is melted.
    • Let cool 5–10 minutes before slicing.
  7. Serve
    • Optional: drizzle with ketchup, mustard, or extra pickles for a true cheeseburger experience.

Pro Tips

  • Cheese mix: Use a combination of sharp cheddar + Monterey Jack for extra flavor.
  • Veggie boost: Add sautéed mushrooms or bell peppers with the beef.
  • Make-ahead: Assemble the pie and refrigerate up to 24 hours before baking.
  • Crispier crust: Bake pie crust 5–7 minutes before adding filling.

If you want, I can also give a skillet version or a low-carb Pioneer Woman Cheeseburger Pie using a cauliflower crust.

Do you want me to do that?
