Pineapple glazed ham

Posted on January 13, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a classic Pineapple Glazed Ham—sweet, savory, glossy, and perfect for holidays or Sunday dinner. This works with spiral-cut or whole ham.

🍍 Pineapple Glazed Ham

Ingredients

  • 1 fully cooked bone-in ham (8–10 lbs)
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup honey or maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ½ tsp ground cloves (or cinnamon)
  • Optional garnish: pineapple rings + maraschino cherries

Instructions

  1. Prep Ham
    • Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
    • Place ham cut-side down in a roasting pan.
    • Cover loosely with foil.
  2. Bake
    • Heat ham 15 minutes per pound until warmed through
      (internal temp about 140°F).
  3. Make Pineapple Glaze
    • In a saucepan, combine pineapple juice, brown sugar, honey, Dijon, butter, and cloves.
    • Simmer 8–10 minutes until slightly thick and glossy.
  4. Glaze Ham
    • Remove foil during the last 30 minutes of baking.
    • Brush ham generously with glaze every 10 minutes.
    • Add pineapple rings and cherries if using.
  5. Caramelize
    • Optional: Broil 2–3 minutes at the end for extra caramelization—watch closely.
  6. Rest & Serve
    • Rest ham 10–15 minutes before slicing.
    • Spoon extra glaze over slices.

Tips for Best Flavor

  • Spiral ham: Reduce bake time; glaze gently so slices don’t dry out.
  • Less sweet: Reduce honey to 2 tbsp.
  • Extra tangy: Add 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or orange zest.
  • Slow cooker option: Cook on low 4–5 hours, glaze during last hour.

Perfect Pairings

  • Scalloped or mashed potatoes
  • Green beans or roasted Brussels sprouts
  • Dinner rolls or cornbread

If you want, I can give you a brown sugar–pineapple glaze with rum, a slow-cooker version, or ideas for leftover ham recipes (soups, casseroles, sliders).
