Pecan pie

Posted on October 30, 2025 by Admin
Pecan pie is a classic Southern dessert that’s rich, sweet, and full of nutty flavor — perfect for holidays like Thanksgiving. Here’s a simple, traditional recipe:

🥧 Classic Pecan Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust (homemade or store-bought)

  • 1 cup light corn syrup

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar

  • 3 large eggs

  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • 1 ½ cups pecan halves

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Prepare the filling:
In a medium bowl, whisk together corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, vanilla, and salt until smooth.

  3. Add the pecans:
Stir in the pecan halves, then pour the mixture into the unbaked pie crust.

  4. Bake:
Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake for 50–60 minutes, until the filling is set (it should jiggle slightly in the center).

  5. Cool completely:
Let the pie cool at room temperature for at least 2 hours before slicing. This helps the filling firm up.

Tips

  • For a twist, use dark corn syrup for a deeper caramel flavor.

  • Add a tablespoon of bourbon or a handful of chocolate chips for a flavor upgrade.

  • Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
