🥮 Pecan Caramel Baklava Cups

Ingredients (Makes ~24 mini cups)

For the cups:

  • 1 package mini phyllo shells (usually 15–24 per box)
  • 1 cup pecans, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup walnuts (optional), finely chopped
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of nutmeg (optional)
  • 3 tbsp melted butter

For the caramel syrup:

  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • ½ tsp vanilla or pinch of sea salt (optional)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prep the nut filling

In a bowl, mix:
✔️ chopped pecans
✔️ walnuts (if using)
✔️ cinnamon & spices
✔️ melted butter
Stir until nuts are coated.

2. Fill the phyllo cups

Place the mini phyllo shells on a baking sheet.
Spoon ~1 tsp of the nut mixture into each cup.

3. Bake

Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes until golden and toasty.

4. Make the caramel syrup

In a small saucepan:

  1. Add sugar + water → simmer without stirring until lightly golden.
  2. Remove from heat and quickly whisk in honey + butter + vanilla/salt.
  3. Let it thicken for 1–2 minutes.

5. Finish the baklava cups

Drizzle warm caramel over each baked cup.
Let set for 10–15 minutes so the syrup soaks in a bit.

  • Top with a pecan half
