Posted on November 2, 2025 by Admin
Oh, that sounds amazing — smoky, sweet, and savory all in one! 😋
Here’s a one-pot smoky honey BBQ steak pasta recipe you can make in about 25 minutes total, with minimal cleanup.

🍯🔥 One-Pot Smoky Honey BBQ Steak Pasta

🕒 Total Time

25 minutes

🍽 Serves

3–4

Ingredients

For the pasta:

  • 8 oz (225 g) penne, rotini, or any short pasta

  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter

  • 1 lb (450 g) steak (sirloin, ribeye, or flank), thinly sliced

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (smoky variety works best)

  • 2 tbsp honey

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1/2 tsp chili powder (optional, for a kick)

  • 2 cups beef broth (or water + 1 bouillon cube)

  • 1/2 cup milk or cream (for extra richness)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional toppings:

  • Shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese

  • Chopped parsley or green onions

Instructions

  1. Sear the steak

    • Heat oil in a large pot or deep skillet over medium-high heat.

    • Season steak with salt, pepper, and a pinch of smoked paprika.

    • Sear until browned (1–2 min per side). Remove and set aside.

  2. Sauté aromatics

    • In the same pot, add a bit more oil if needed.

    • Add onion and garlic, sauté 1–2 minutes until fragrant.

  3. Build the sauce

    • Stir in BBQ sauce, honey, smoked paprika, and chili powder.

    • Mix to coat the onions and garlic.

  4. Add pasta + liquid

    • Pour in beef broth and milk.

    • Stir in the uncooked pasta. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer.

  5. Cook pasta

    • Cover and simmer 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and sauce thickens.

  6. Add steak back in

    • Stir the cooked steak into the pasta. Let it warm for 1–2 minutes.

    • Taste and adjust seasoning (add more BBQ or honey to taste).

  7. Finish and serve

    • Top with cheese if desired; cover until melted.

    • Garnish with parsley or green onions.

🔥 Tips

  • For extra smokiness, add a splash of liquid smoke or use smoked BBQ sauce.

  • Works great with leftover steak or grilled beef!

  • Want it creamier? Add a spoon of cream cheese or a splash of heavy cream at the end.

Would you like me to adapt this into a 15-minute version (using pre-cooked steak or instant pasta)?
