Oatmeal cookies

Posted on December 1, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a classic, chewy and slightly crisp Oatmeal Cookies recipe — full of oats, lightly spiced with cinnamon, and easy to make. You can also add raisins, chocolate chips, or nuts if you like.

🍪 Classic Oatmeal Cookies

⭐ Ingredients (makes ~24 cookies)

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 cups old-fashioned oats
  • Optional add-ins: 1 cup raisins, chocolate chips, or chopped nuts

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Preheat oven

  • Preheat to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. Cream butter and sugars

  • In a large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy.
  • Add eggs and vanilla; beat until combined.

3. Mix dry ingredients

  • In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Gradually add to the butter mixture and mix until combined.

4. Add oats and optional add-ins

  • Stir in oats and any add-ins (raisins, chocolate chips, nuts).

5. Scoop cookies

  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  • Flatten slightly if you want a wider cookie.

6. Bake

  • Bake 10–12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
  • Let cookies cool on baking sheet 2–3 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

⭐ Tips & Variations

  • Chewier cookies: Use more brown sugar than white sugar.
  • Crispier cookies: Bake 1–2 minutes longer and flatten slightly.
  • Spiced version: Add ¼ tsp nutmeg or ginger for extra flavor.
  • Healthy twist: Substitute ½ cup flour with whole wheat flour, or add ½ cup shredded coconut.

I can also give you a soft-baked oatmeal raisin version, a chewy chocolate chip oatmeal cookie, or a no-bake oatmeal cookie recipe if you want.
