Here’s an easy, bakery-style recipe for Mini Cherry Cheese Danishes—flaky, creamy, and perfect for breakfast or dessert:


Mini Cherry Cheese Danishes

Ingredients (makes 12)

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 cup cherry pie filling

Egg Wash

  • 1 egg + 1 tbsp water

Optional Glaze

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tbsp milk or cream
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • Preheat to 400°F (200°C).
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare pastry
    • Roll puff pastry slightly and cut into 12 equal squares.
    • Place squares on baking sheet.
    • Lightly score a smaller square inside each (don’t cut through).
    • Prick center with a fork.
  3. Make cheese filling
    • Beat cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and egg yolk until smooth.
  4. Assemble
    • Spoon 1 tbsp cheese filling into center of each square.
    • Top with 1–2 tsp cherry pie filling.
  5. Egg wash
    • Brush edges with egg wash.
  6. Bake
    • Bake 15–18 minutes until puffed and golden.
  7. Glaze (optional)
    • Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over cooled danishes.

Tips & Variations

  • Swap cherry for blueberry, raspberry, or apple filling
  • Add lemon zest to the cream cheese for brightness
  • Use crescent dough for a softer, quicker version
