Million dollar ravioli casserole

Posted on December 23, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a Million Dollar Ravioli Casserole recipe 🧀🍝—rich, cheesy, and comfort-food perfect.

Ingredients (Serves 6–8)

Casserole:

  • 1 package (25–28 oz) frozen cheese ravioli
  • 1 lb ground beef (or Italian sausage)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups marinara or spaghetti sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Cheese Layer:

  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • Optional: ¼ tsp red pepper flakes

Topping:

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Preheat & Cook Ravioli

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook ravioli according to package directions, but drain slightly undercooked (they’ll bake more in the casserole).

2. Cook Meat Sauce

  1. In a skillet, sauté onion and garlic until soft.
  2. Add ground beef, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in marinara sauce and simmer 5 minutes.

3. Prepare Cheese Mixture

  • In a bowl, combine ricotta, 1 cup mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, and optional red pepper flakes. Mix until smooth.

4. Assemble Casserole

  1. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer half the ravioli over the sauce.
  3. Spread half the cheese mixture on top, then half the meat sauce.
  4. Repeat with remaining ravioli, cheese, and meat sauce.
  5. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella and Parmesan on top.

5. Bake

  • Cover with foil and bake 25 minutes.
  • Remove foil and bake another 10–15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.

6. Serve

  • Let cool 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped basil or parsley.

Tips & Variations

  • Vegetarian: Replace meat with sautéed mushrooms or spinach.
  • Extra flavor: Add a splash of cream to the sauce for richness.
  • Make ahead: Assemble the casserole and refrigerate; bake when ready.

If you want, I can also give a super quick 30-minute version using no-boil ravioli and jarred sauce.
