Here’s a quick and flavorful recipe for Lemon Butter Baked Shrimp—perfect as a main dish, appetizer, or to toss with pasta or rice:


Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tbsp (60 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice and zest of 1 lemon
  • ½ tsp paprika (optional, for color and flavor)
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven:
    • Set oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare shrimp:
    • In a bowl, mix melted butter, garlic, lemon juice and zest, paprika, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
    • Add shrimp and toss until evenly coated.
  3. Bake shrimp:
    • Arrange shrimp in a single layer on a baking sheet or in a baking dish.
    • Pour any remaining butter mixture over the shrimp.
    • Bake 8–10 minutes, until shrimp are pink, opaque, and just cooked through (don’t overcook—they cook quickly).
  4. Serve:
    • Garnish with chopped parsley and additional lemon wedges.
    • Serve over rice, pasta, or with crusty bread to soak up the buttery sauce.

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine to the butter mixture before baking.
  • You can broil for the last 1–2 minutes for a lightly caramelized top.
  • Leftovers are great for shrimp salads or tacos.
