Italian Stromboli
Ingredients
- 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- ½ cup marinara sauce (for dipping, not inside)
- 1½–2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 12–16 slices Italian meats (pepperoni, salami, ham, or capicola)
- ½ cup sautéed bell peppers or onions (optional)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll the dough
Roll dough into a rectangle about 10×14 inches on a lightly floured surface. - Layer the fillings
- Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan, leaving a 1-inch border
- Add meats evenly
- Add veggies (if using)
- Sprinkle Italian seasoning
- Roll it up
Roll tightly from the long side like a jelly roll.
Pinch seams and tuck ends underneath. - Prepare for baking
