Hawaiian baked ham and swiss sandwiches

Posted on January 30, 2026 by Admin

Absolutely! Here’s a classic recipe for Hawaiian Baked Ham and Swiss Sandwiches—sweet, savory, melty, and perfect for a crowd or weeknight dinner.

Hawaiian Baked Ham and Swiss Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls (or small dinner rolls)
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese
  • 12 slices ham (deli or leftover cooked ham)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional, for a little tang)
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a baking dish large enough to hold the sandwiches.
  2. Assemble Sandwiches:
    • Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping them connected if possible for easier baking.
    • Place the bottom halves in the baking dish.
    • Layer ham and then Swiss cheese on each roll.
    • Top with the roll tops.
  3. Prepare the Glaze:
    • In a small bowl, mix melted butter, honey, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, onion powder, and garlic powder until smooth.
  4. Brush and Bake:
    • Brush the glaze generously over the tops of the rolls.
    • Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
    • Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown.
  5. Serve:
    • Serve warm, either as a pull-apart sandwich platter or individually.

Tips

  • Make Ahead: Assemble the sandwiches the night before, cover, and refrigerate. Brush with glaze and bake just before serving.
  • Add Pineapple: For extra “Hawaiian” flair, add a slice of pineapple on top of the ham before the cheese.
  • Make It Spicy: Add a little sriracha or mustard to the glaze for a kick.

If you want, I can also give a slow-cooker version where the sandwiches turn extra soft and melty, perfect for potlucks or casual gatherings.

Do you want me to give that version too?
