Here’s a gooey, soft-centered chocolate chip cookie recipe that stays chewy with melty chocolate in every bite 🍪


🍫 Gooey Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients (makes ~12 cookies)

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted & slightly cooled
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cups chocolate chips or chunks (semi-sweet or milk)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix wet ingredients
    Whisk melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
    Add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla; whisk until glossy.
  3. Add dry ingredients
    Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt just until combined.
  4. Fold in chocolate
    Reserve a few chips to press on top before baking.
  5. Scoop & bake
    Scoop dough into balls (about 2 tablespoons each).
    Bake 9–11 minutes — centers should look slightly underbaked.
  6. Cool slightly
    Let cookies rest on the pan for 5 minutes to set, then transfer.

🔥 Gooey Secrets

  • Extra egg yolk = richer, softer center
  • Underbake slightly for that gooey middle
  • Use chocolate chunks for bigger melty pockets
  • Chill dough 30 minutes for thicker cookies (optional)
