Here’s a classic, foolproof Glazed Ham—sweet, savory, and perfect for holidays or Sunday dinner:


Glazed Ham

Ingredients (serves 8–12)

  • 1 fully cooked bone-in or boneless ham (8–10 lb)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp Dijon or yellow mustard
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves (optional)
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice, orange juice, or apple juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • Preheat to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Prepare ham
    • Place ham cut-side down in a roasting pan.
    • Score the surface in a diamond pattern (optional but recommended).
  3. Make glaze
    • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, honey (or maple syrup), mustard, butter, spices, and juice.
    • Simmer 2–3 minutes until smooth.
  4. Bake
    • Cover ham loosely with foil.
    • Bake 15 minutes per pound, until heated through.
  5. Glaze
    • During the last 30–40 minutes, uncover ham and brush generously with glaze every 10 minutes.
  6. Finish
    • For a caramelized finish, increase oven to 425°F (220°C) for the last 5–7 minutes (watch closely).
  7. Rest & serve
    • Let ham rest 10–15 minutes before slicing.

Tips

  • Fully cooked hams just need reheating—avoid drying out.
  • Add pineapple rings or cherries for a classic look.
  • Leftover ham is great for sandwiches, soups, or casseroles.
