Here’s a simple, tasty Garlic Butter Chicken Penne Pasta recipe you can make at home 🍝

Ingredients (serves ~2–3)

  • 250 g (about 8 oz) penne pasta
  • 2 chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ cup cooking cream (or heavy cream)
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning (or mixed herbs)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: chili flakes, parsley, spinach, or mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta
    • Boil penne in salted water until al dente.
    • Drain and set aside (save a little pasta water).
  2. Cook the chicken
    • Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
    • Add chicken, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
    • Cook until golden and fully cooked, then remove from the pan.
  3. Make the garlic butter sauce
    • In the same pan, melt butter.
    • Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds (don’t let it burn).
  4. Add cream & cheese
    • Pour in the cream and stir gently.
    • Add Parmesan and mix until smooth.
    • If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of pasta water.
  5. Combine everything
    • Add cooked pasta and chicken back into the pan.
    • Toss well so everything is coated in sauce.
  6. Finish & serve
    • Taste and adjust seasoning.
    • Garnish with parsley or extra Parmesan.

Tips

  • Want it lighter? Use milk instead of cream.
  • Want extra flavor? Add mushrooms or spinach with the garlic.
  • Like spice? Sprinkle in chili flakes.
