Here’s a simple, tasty Garlic Butter Chicken Penne Pasta recipe you can make at home 🍝
Ingredients (serves ~2–3)
- 250 g (about 8 oz) penne pasta
- 2 chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
- 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- ½ cup cooking cream (or heavy cream)
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning (or mixed herbs)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Optional: chili flakes, parsley, spinach, or mushrooms
Instructions
- Cook the pasta
- Boil penne in salted water until al dente.
- Drain and set aside (save a little pasta water).
- Cook the chicken
- Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add chicken, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Cook until golden and fully cooked, then remove from the pan.
- Make the garlic butter sauce
- In the same pan, melt butter.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds (don’t let it burn).
- Add cream & cheese
- Pour in the cream and stir gently.
- Add Parmesan and mix until smooth.
- If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of pasta water.
- Combine everything
- Add cooked pasta and chicken back into the pan.
- Toss well so everything is coated in sauce.
- Finish & serve
- Taste and adjust seasoning.
- Garnish with parsley or extra Parmesan.
Tips
- Want it lighter? Use milk instead of cream.
- Want extra flavor? Add mushrooms or spinach with the garlic.
- Like spice? Sprinkle in chili flakes.
If you want, I can also give you a one-pan version, a cheesy baked version, or a no-cream alternative 👍
