🥩🧈 Garlic Butter Beef Bites with Creamy Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients (Serves 4)
For the beef bites
-
1 lb (450 g) beef sirloin or tenderloin, cut into 1-inch cubes
-
2 tbsp olive oil
-
3 tbsp unsalted butter
-
4 cloves garlic, minced
-
½ tsp smoked paprika (optional)
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste
-
1 tsp fresh thyme or parsley, chopped (optional garnish)
For the mashed potatoes
-
2 lbs (900 g) russet or Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and chopped
-
4 tbsp unsalted butter
-
½ cup (120 ml) milk or cream
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste
-
Optional: 2 tbsp sour cream or cream cheese for extra creaminess
👩🍳 Instructions
1. Prepare the mashed potatoes
-
Boil potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15–20 minutes.
-
Drain and return to the pot.
-
Mash with butter, then gradually add milk or cream until smooth.
-
Season with salt, pepper, and optional sour cream or cream cheese. Keep warm.
2. Cook the beef bites
-
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
-
Season beef cubes with salt, pepper, and paprika.
-
Sear beef in batches for 2–3 minutes per side, until browned (don’t overcrowd the pan). Remove and set aside.
-
In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic for 30–60 seconds, until fragrant.
-
Return beef to the skillet and toss to coat in garlic butter. Cook another 1–2 minutes until heated through.
3. Serve
-
Plate creamy mashed potatoes and top with garlic butter beef bites.
-
Spoon extra garlic butter from the skillet over the top.
-
Garnish with fresh thyme or parsley.
💡 Tips
-
Extra flavor: Deglaze the pan with 2 tbsp of beef broth or white wine before tossing the beef in garlic butter.
-
Tender beef: Don’t overcook — aim for medium-rare to medium for the best texture.
-
Add veggies: Serve with roasted asparagus, green beans, or sautéed mushrooms.
If you want, I can also give a one-pan version where the beef bites and mashed potatoes cook together for even easier cleanup.
Do you want me to make that version?
