Fried potatoes, onions, and sausage is a simple, hearty skillet mealβ€”crispy potatoes, sweet caramelized onions, and savory sausage all cooked together. πŸ₯”πŸ§…πŸŒ­πŸ”₯

Ingredients

  • 3–4 medium potatoes (peeled or unpeeled, diced)
  • 1 medium onion (sliced)
  • 200–300 g sausage (sliced; smoked or fresh)
  • 2–3 tbsp oil or butter
  • Β½ tsp salt
  • Β½ tsp black pepper
  • Β½ tsp paprika (optional)
  • 1 clove garlic (optional, minced)
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

1. Cook the Potatoes

  1. Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Add diced potatoes and cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally until they start to turn golden.

2. Add Sausage

  1. Add sliced sausage to the pan.
  2. Cook for 5–7 minutes until the sausage browns.

3. Add Onions & Seasoning

  1. Add sliced onions (and garlic if using).
  2. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Cook another 5–7 minutes until onions soften and caramelize.

4. Finish

  • Cook until potatoes are crispy and fully tender.
  • Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.

Serving Ideas

  • Top with a fried egg 🍳
  • Serve with toast or bread 🍞
  • Add bell peppers for extra flavor 🌢️

Parboil the potatoes for 5 minutes before frying if you want them extra crispy outside and soft inside.
