Everything bagel bits

Posted on November 3, 2025February 21, 2026 by Admin

Everything Bagel Bits are a crunchy, savory topping inspired by the classic “everything” bagel seasoning. They’re versatile and perfect for sprinkling over salads, avocado toast, pasta, roasted veggies, or even popcorn. Here’s how to make them at home:

Ingredients

  • 2–3 cups bread cubes (day-old bread works best)

  • 2–3 tbsp olive oil or melted butter

  • 1–2 tsp everything bagel seasoning (store-bought or homemade – see below)

  • Optional: pinch of salt

Homemade Everything Bagel Seasoning (optional)

  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

  • 1 tbsp dried minced onion

  • 1 tsp dried minced garlic

  • 1 tsp coarse salt

Mix together to make your own batch if you don’t have store-bought.

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Prepare Bread Cubes
Cut your bread into small cubes (about ½–¾ inch).

  3. Toss with Oil and Seasoning
In a large bowl, toss the bread cubes with olive oil or melted butter until lightly coated. Sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning and toss again to coat evenly.

  4. Bake
Spread the seasoned bread cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet.
Bake for 12–15 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.

  5. Cool & Store
Let cool completely. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.

Uses

  • Salad topping (instead of croutons)

  • On avocado toast for extra crunch

  • Sprinkle on scrambled eggs or omelets

  • Add to creamy dips for texture

  • As a garnish for soups

If you want, I can also give a quick microwave or skillet method to make these in under 10 minutes for small batches. Do you want me to do that?
