Posted on December 26, 2025January 27, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple, foolproof recipe for Easy Cream Puffs—light, airy, and perfect for beginners 🤍

Easy Cream Puffs

Ingredients

Pastry (Choux Dough)

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Filling (choose one)

  • Whipped cream
  • Vanilla pudding or pastry cream
  • Ice cream (for a fun shortcut)

Optional topping

  • Powdered sugar
  • Chocolate drizzle

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Make the dough:
In a saucepan, bring water and butter to a rolling boil.
Remove from heat and stir in flour and salt all at once until a smooth ball forms.
  3. Add eggs:
Let dough cool for 5 minutes.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each, until smooth and glossy.
  4. Shape puffs:
Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto the baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  5. Bake:
Bake for 30–35 minutes, until puffed and golden.
Do not open the oven while baking.
  6. Cool:
Remove from oven and poke a small hole in each puff to release steam. Cool completely.
  7. Fill:
Slice in half or pipe filling inside. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with chocolate.

Tips for Success

  • Dough should be thick but smooth.
  • Cream puffs should feel light and hollow when done.
  • Fill just before serving for best texture.

Quick Filling Idea

Mix 1 cup heavy cream + 2 tablespoons powdered sugar + 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and whip until stiff peaks form.
