Here’s a delicious, crunchy recipe for crispy cottage cheese sticks (made with paneer)—perfect as a snack or appetizer.


🧀 Crispy Cottage Cheese (Paneer) Sticks

🛒 Ingredients

  • 250 g paneer (cut into finger-sized sticks)
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour (maida)
  • 2 tbsp cornflour
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (or paste)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • ½ cup water (for batter)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Oil (for frying)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the batter

  • In a bowl, mix:
    • Flour + cornflour
    • Spices + salt
  • Add water gradually to make a smooth, slightly thick batter

2. Coat the paneer

  • Dip each paneer stick into the batter
  • Roll it in breadcrumbs
    👉 For extra crispiness: repeat dipping + coating once more

3. Fry

  • Heat oil on medium flame
  • Fry sticks until golden brown and crispy
  • Remove and place on paper towel

4. Serve hot

Best served with:

  • Ketchup
  • Mint chutney
  • Garlic mayo

🔥 Air Fryer / Oven Option

  • Brush or spray with oil
  • Air fry at 180°C for 10–12 minutes (flip halfway)
  • Or bake at 200°C for 15–20 minutes

  • Add oregano + garlic powder to breadcrumbs

  • Add chili flakes or hot sauce to batter

  • Use firm, fresh paneer to avoid breaking
  • Keep oil medium hot (too hot = outside burns, inside cold)
