    • Slowly pour the warm milk into the egg mixture, whisking constantly to prevent curdling.
  4. Bake in a water bath:
    • Pour the mixture into individual ramekins or a single baking dish.
    • Place them in a larger pan and fill the pan with hot water halfway up the sides of the ramekins.
    • Bake for 40–50 minutes, or until the custard is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
  5. Cool and serve:
    • Let cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for 2–3 hours.
    • Sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg before serving.
