Ingredients (Serves 2)

  • 1 cup frozen or fresh peas
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk (or a bit more for thinner consistency)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • 2–4 slices of bread, toasted

Instructions

  1. Cook the Peas:
    • If using frozen peas, cook them in boiling water for 2–3 minutes until tender, then drain.

    • Gradually whisk in milk until smooth.

  3. Add Peas:
    • Stir in the cooked peas and heat through for 2–3 minutes.
  4. Serve on Toast:
    • Spoon the creamed peas over warm toasted bread slices.
    • Garnish with parsley if desired.

  • For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of garlic powder or onion powder to the cream sauce.
