Cordon Bleu Crescent Braid 🥐🧀🍗

Cordon Bleu Crescent Braid is an easy baked dish inspired by the classic Chicken Cordon Bleu. It combines chicken, ham, and cheese wrapped inside flaky crescent dough and braided before baking.

🧾 Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1½ cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
  • 4–6 slices ham
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded or sliced
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Optional:

  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp parsley or sesame seeds for topping

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat oven
Heat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2️⃣ Prepare the filling
In a bowl mix:

  • chicken
  • mayonnaise
  • Dijon mustard
  • garlic powder
  • black pepper

3️⃣ Prepare the dough
Unroll crescent dough on the baking sheet and press seams together to form a rectangle.

4️⃣ Layer the filling
Place ham slices in the center of the dough, then add the chicken mixture and top with Swiss cheese.

5️⃣ Create the braid
Cut strips along both sides of the dough. Fold the strips over the filling, alternating sides to create a braid pattern.

6️⃣ Add topping
Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle parsley or seeds if desired.

7️⃣ Bake
Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
