Here’s a Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe with a secret twist that makes people say “wait… what is that flavor?” 😄🍪
(It’s totally teen-friendly and easy.)

Chocolate Chip Cookies (Secret Twist!)

The Secret Twist

👉 A tiny bit of cinnamon + browned butter
It adds warmth and a nutty flavor without tasting like a “spice cookie.”


Ingredients

  • ¾ cup unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
  • 1½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp cinnamon (the secret!)
  • 1½ cups chocolate chips

Instructions

1. Brown the butter (the magic step)

  • Melt butter in a pan over medium heat.
  • Stir until it turns golden brown and smells nutty.
  • Pour into a bowl and cool for 5 minutes.

2. Make the dough

  1. Mix brown sugar and white sugar into the butter.
  2. Add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla. Mix well.
  3. Stir in flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips.

3. Chill (important!)

  • Chill dough 30 minutes (keeps cookies thick and chewy).

4. Bake

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Scoop dough onto a lined baking sheet.
  • Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are set and centers are soft.

5. Cool

  • Let sit on the pan for 5 minutes, then move to a rack.
