Chicken Skewers

Chicken skewers are small pieces of marinated chicken threaded onto sticks and grilled, baked, or pan-fried. They’re popular worldwide because they cook quickly and absorb marinades very well.

🧂 Simple Chicken Skewers Recipe

Ingredients

  • 500 g boneless chicken (cut into cubes)

  • 2 tbsp yogurt

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp garlic paste

  • 1 tsp paprika or red chili powder

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1 tsp cumin powder

  • 1 tbsp oil

  • Optional: capsicum, onion, or tomato chunks

Instructions

  1. Marinate: Mix yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, spices, salt, and oil. Add chicken cubes and coat well.

  2. Rest: Cover and marinate for 30–60 minutes (longer = more flavor).

  3. Skewer: Thread chicken pieces onto skewers. Add vegetables between pieces if you like.

  4. Cook:

    • Grill: 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally.

    • Oven: 200°C for 18–20 minutes.

    • Pan: Cook on medium heat until golden and cooked through.

  5. Serve: Garnish with lemon and fresh coriander.

  • Inside wraps or pita bread

  • With rice or grilled vegetables

🔥 Tips for Best Skewers

  • Soak wooden skewers in water for 20 minutes so they don’t burn.

  • Cut chicken pieces similar size so they cook evenly.

  • Don’t overcrowd the skewer.
