Here’s a classic, juicy Chicken Sandwich recipe—crispy or grilled, flavorful, and perfect for any meal.

Chicken Sandwich

Servings: 2–4

Ingredients

  • 2–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)
  • 1 cup flour (for breaded version)
  • 1–2 eggs, beaten (for breaded version)
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs or panko (for breaded version)
  • 2–4 sandwich buns
  • Lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, and cheese (optional)
  • Mayonnaise, mustard, or your favorite sauce
  • Oil for frying (for breaded version)

Instructions

Option 1: Breaded & Fried

  1. Prepare chicken
    • Pound chicken to even thickness. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  2. Bread chicken
    • Dredge in flour, dip in beaten eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs/panko.
  3. Fry
    • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temp 165°F / 74°C).

Option 2: Grilled

  1. Season chicken
    • Season as above. Brush with oil.
  2. Grill
    • Grill chicken 5–6 minutes per side over medium heat until fully cooked.

Assemble Sandwich

  1. Toast buns lightly (optional).
  2. Spread mayonnaise, mustard, or sauce on buns.
  3. Layer lettuce, tomato, pickles, cheese, and cooked chicken.
  4. Top with bun and serve immediately.

Pro Tips

  • Extra flavor: Marinate chicken in buttermilk for 1–2 hours before breading or grilling.
  • Cheese options: Cheddar, Swiss, or pepper jack work well.
  • Spicy twist: Add sriracha mayo or a pinch of cayenne to the breading.
  • Make ahead: Breaded chicken can be cooked and stored in the fridge, then quickly reheated.

If you want, I can also give a crispy fried chicken sandwich with pickled slaw recipe that’s like a restaurant-style sandwich.

Do you want me to do that?
