Chicken mozzarella bombs

Posted on November 21, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a delicious and fun recipe for Chicken Mozzarella Bombs — juicy chicken wrapped around gooey mozzarella, baked in a flavorful sauce. These are great for dinner, meal prep, or a crowd‑pleasing appetizer.

Chicken Mozzarella Bombs

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 mozzarella sticks (or 4 oz fresh mozzarella cut into logs)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. Prep the chicken

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Butterfly each chicken breast or pound it to 1/2–3/4 inch thickness.
  3. Season both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.

2. Stuff the chicken

  1. Place a mozzarella stick (or mozzarella log) at one end of each chicken breast.
  2. Roll tightly and secure with toothpicks.
  3. Brush outside lightly with olive oil.

3. Sear (optional but recommended)

  • Heat a skillet over medium‑high heat.
  • Sear chicken rolls 2–3 minutes per side until lightly golden.
This helps keep them sealed and adds flavor.

4. Bake

  1. Place the chicken in a baking dish.
  2. Pour marinara sauce over the top.
  3. Sprinkle with Parmesan.
  4. Bake 20–25 minutes, or until chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) and cheese is melted inside.

5. Serve

  • Garnish with fresh basil or parsley.
  • Serve over pasta, rice, garlic bread, or a light salad.

Tips

  • Use fresh mozzarella for the best melt, but string cheese works great and doesn’t leak as much.
  • Add spinach or pesto inside for extra flavor.
  • For a crispy topping, broil the last 2 minutes.
