chessy chicken fritters

Here’s a delicious, easy recipe for cheesy chicken fritters — crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside, loaded with flavor and melty cheese. 🧀🍗

🧂 Ingredients

Makes 4–6 servings

  • 1 lb (450 g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • 1 large egg

  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella (or cheddar, or a mix)

  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise or Greek yogurt

  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour (or almond flour for low carb)

  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions (optional but great for flavor)

  • 1 garlic clove, minced (or ½ tsp garlic powder)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil or butter for frying

🍳 Instructions

  1. Chop the chicken:
Cut the chicken breasts into very small cubes (¼-inch pieces) or pulse them briefly in a food processor — don’t make it a paste.

  2. Mix it up:
In a bowl, combine the chopped chicken, egg, cheese, mayonnaise, flour, green onions, garlic, salt, and pepper.
Mix well until evenly combined. The mixture will be thick and sticky.

  3. Form fritters:
Heat oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the chicken mixture per fritter into the pan and flatten slightly with the back of the spoon.

  4. Cook:
Fry for about 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temp: 165°F / 74°C).

  5. Drain & serve:
Place fritters on a paper towel–lined plate to drain.
Serve hot with dipping sauce — try garlic aioli, ranch, spicy mayo, or sweet chili sauce.

🧀 Tips & Variations

  • Add chopped jalapeños or chili flakes for a spicy kick.

  • Use Parmesan instead of mozzarella for a sharper flavor.

  • Turn them into air fryer fritters: cook at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway.

Would you like me to include a baked version or a low-carb/keto variation of these cheesy chicken fritters?
