Cherry Dump Cake

Here’s a super easy and delicious Cherry Dump Cake recipe—perfect when you want a quick, sweet treat with minimal effort:


Ingredients (Serves 8)

  • 1 can (21 oz / 595 g) cherry pie filling
  • 1 box yellow or white cake mix (15–16 oz / 425–450 g)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • Optional: 1/2 tsp almond extract or 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven:
    • Preheat to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Layer the ingredients:
    • In a 9×13-inch baking dish, pour the cherry pie filling evenly.
    • Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the cherries.
    • Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix.
    • Optional: Sprinkle almond extract or chopped nuts on top for extra flavor.
  3. Bake:
    • Bake for 45–50 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  4. Serve:
    • Let it cool slightly before serving.
    • Delicious with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top!

💡 Tips:

  • You can swap cherry pie filling for blueberry, peach, or apple for variety.
  • Don’t stir—the “dump” method creates a crispy, golden topping with a soft, fruity bottom.
  • For extra richness, add 1/2 cup coconut flakes or a handful of chocolate chips before baking.
