Posted on November 5, 2025 by Admin

Absolutely! Here’s a simple and delicious cheese twisted bread recipe you can make at home. This yields soft, cheesy, pull-apart twists perfect as a snack or side.

Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup warm milk (or water)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (or melted butter)

For the filling:

  • 1 cup grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
  • 1–2 tbsp melted butter
  • Optional: ½ tsp garlic powder, chopped herbs (oregano, parsley, or thyme)

For topping:

  • 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)
  • Extra cheese for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough:
    • In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit 5–10 minutes until frothy.
    • Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
    • Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise for 1–1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  2. Roll out the dough:
    • Punch down the dough and roll it into a rectangle (~10×12 inches).
  3. Add the filling:
    • Brush melted butter over the dough.
    • Sprinkle grated cheese evenly over the top.
    • Add optional garlic powder or herbs if desired.
  4. Cut and twist:
    • Cut the dough into strips (~1 inch wide).
    • Take each strip and twist it a few times, then place on a lined baking tray.
  5. Second rise:
    • Let the twisted strips rest for 15–20 minutes.
  6. Bake:
    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Brush twists with beaten egg (optional) and sprinkle extra cheese on top.
    • Bake for 15–20 minutes, until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  7. Serve warm:
    • Enjoy your cheesy, soft, and slightly crispy bread twists!

💡 Tips:

  • Use a mix of cheeses for extra flavor.
  • Add a pinch of chili flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Serve with tomato ketchup, marinara, or garlic dip.

If you want, I can also give you a quick no-yeast version that uses puff pastry—super fast and just as tasty. Do you want me to share that version too?
