🔥 Oh, you’re going for flavor — Cajun Honey Butter Salmon is the perfect mix of sweet, spicy, and buttery rich! It’s easy to make in under 30 minutes and tastes restaurant-worthy.

Here’s a simple and foolproof recipe:

🐟 Cajun Honey Butter Salmon

Ingredients

For the salmon:

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each, skin-on or skinless)

  • 1½ tbsp Cajun seasoning (store-bought or homemade)

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For the honey butter glaze:

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 2 tbsp honey

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (or fresh lime juice)

  • Optional: pinch of cayenne or crushed red pepper for extra heat

Instructions

1. Prep and season

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.

  2. Season both sides with Cajun seasoning, a little salt, and pepper.

2. Make the honey butter

  1. In a small saucepan or skillet, melt butter over medium heat.

  2. Stir in honey, garlic, and lemon juice.

  3. Simmer 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened, then remove from heat.

3. Sear the salmon

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. Add salmon (skin side down if applicable).

  3. Cook 4–5 minutes per side, depending on thickness, until nicely browned and just cooked through.

    • Internal temp should be around 125–130°F (52–54°C) for moist, flaky salmon.

4. Glaze it

  1. Pour the honey butter glaze over the salmon during the last minute of cooking.

  2. Baste the fish with a spoon as the sauce thickens and caramelizes slightly.

5. Serve

  • Spoon extra sauce over the top.

  • Garnish with chopped parsley or green onion and a squeeze of lemon.

  • Pairs perfectly with mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted veggies.

💡 Tips & Variations

  • Oven option: Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes, then broil 1–2 minutes at the end for caramelization.

  • Homemade Cajun seasoning: Combine 1 tsp each paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, thyme, salt, pepper + ½ tsp cayenne.

  • Add a dash of soy sauce or hot sauce to the glaze for a deeper flavor kick.
