Crispy Buffalo Wings
Ingredients:
-
2 lbs chicken wings (fresh or thawed)
-
2 tbsp vegetable oil (for crisping)
-
1 cup buffalo sauce (Frank’s RedHot is a favorite, but use any you like)
-
4 tbsp unsalted butter
-
1 tsp garlic powder
-
1 tsp paprika
-
Salt and pepper to taste
For the dipping sauce (optional):
-
1/2 cup ranch dressing (or blue cheese dressing if you prefer)
Instructions:
-
Prep the Wings:
-
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
-
Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. This is key for crispy skin.
-
Toss the wings in a little vegetable oil, salt, and pepper, then arrange them in a single layer on a baking sheet. You can use a rack to help air circulate for extra crispiness.
-
-
Bake the Wings:
-
Bake for 35–40 minutes, flipping them halfway through until the wings are golden brown and crispy.
-
-
Buffalo Sauce:
-
While the wings are baking, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the buffalo sauce, garlic powder, and paprika. Stir to combine and simmer for about 2–3 minutes.
-
-
Toss Wings in Sauce:
-
Once the wings are cooked and crispy, remove them from the oven and toss them in the buffalo sauce until they’re evenly coated.
-
-
Serve:
-
Serve immediately with a side of ranch or blue cheese dressing, and maybe some celery or carrot sticks if you’re feeling extra.
-
💡 Pro Tip: If you want them extra crispy, you can broil them for 1–2 minutes at the end after tossing them in the sauce, just to get that caramelized, crispy coating.
