Posted on February 20, 2026 by Admin

🍎 Baked Apple Fritters (No Frying Needed!)

These are soft, fluffy, packed with apple chunks, and finished with a sweet glaze — but baked instead of deep-fried.

🧁 Ingredients

For the fritters:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 cups finely chopped apples (about 2 medium apples)

For the glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp milk or apple cider
  • ½ tsp vanilla

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2️⃣ Mix Dry Ingredients

Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

3️⃣ Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, and melted butter.

4️⃣ Combine

Fold wet ingredients into dry.
Gently fold in chopped apples. (Batter will be thick.)

5️⃣ Scoop

Drop heaping spoonfuls onto baking sheet (about ¼ cup each).
Leave space between them.

6️⃣ Bake

Bake 15–18 minutes until golden and set.

Optional: Broil 1–2 minutes at the end for extra browning (watch closely).

🍯 Glaze

Whisk glaze ingredients until smooth.
Drizzle over warm fritters.

🔥 Tips for Best Results

  • Use Granny Smith for tart flavor or Honeycrisp for sweeter fritters.
  • Dice apples small so they soften fully.
  • Don’t overmix — keeps them tender.
  • For bakery-style finish, brush tops with melted butter before glazing.

✨ Optional Add-Ins

  • ¼ cup chopped pecans
  • ¼ tsp cloves
  • Apple cider instead of milk
  • Light dusting of powdered sugar instead of glaze
