Apple cinnamon rolls

Posted on November 4, 2025 by Admin
Perfect! Apple cinnamon puff pastry rolls are a delicious twist on the classic cinnamon roll—quick to make and irresistibly flaky. Here’s a detailed recipe for them:

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)

  • 1 large apple, peeled and finely chopped or grated

  • 2–3 tablespoons brown sugar (adjust to taste)

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, to prevent apple browning)

  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

  • Optional glaze: powdered sugar + milk or cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C / 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Prepare the filling:

    • In a bowl, mix chopped apple, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.

  3. Prepare the puff pastry:

    • Roll out the sheet slightly to smooth it.

    • Brush with melted butter.

    • Evenly spread the apple-cinnamon mixture over the pastry.

  4. Roll and slice:

    • Starting from one edge, carefully roll the pastry into a tight log.

    • Slice into 1–2 inch rolls and place them cut-side up on the baking sheet.

  5. Egg wash:

    • Beat the egg and brush over the tops for a golden finish.

  6. Bake:

    • Bake for 18–22 minutes until the rolls are puffed and golden brown.

  7. Optional glaze:

    • Mix powdered sugar with a little milk or cream to make a drizzle. Pour over cooled rolls for extra sweetness.

💡 Tips:

  • Drain any excess liquid from the apples to avoid soggy pastry.

  • You can add a handful of raisins or chopped nuts for extra texture.

  • Serve warm—these are perfect with coffee or tea!

If you want, I can also give you a quick shortcut for a gooey, caramelized apple filling that makes these rolls taste bakery-level amazing. Do you want me to do that?
