Air fryer potato chips

Posted on November 3, 2025February 12, 2026 by Admin

Crispy, golden, air fryer potato chips? Yes, please! 🥔✨
They’re crunchy, light, and way healthier than deep-fried chips — plus you only need a few ingredients. Here’s how to make them perfectly:

🥔 Air Fryer Potato Chips Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 medium russet potatoes (or Yukon golds)

  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil (or spray oil)

  • Salt, to taste

Optional seasonings:

  • Garlic powder

  • Paprika

  • Black pepper

  • Chili powder

  • Vinegar powder or ranch seasoning for a fun twist

Instructions

1. 🧽 Prep the Potatoes

  • Scrub potatoes clean (peel them if you like smoother chips — leaving the skin adds flavor).

  • Slice very thinly — about 1/16 inch (1.5 mm) thick. A mandoline slicer is perfect for even thickness.

2. 💧 Soak the Slices

  • Place slices in a large bowl of cold water and soak for 20–30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  • Drain and pat completely dry with paper towels. This step is crucial for crispiness!

3. 🫒 Oil & Season

  • Toss dried slices with olive oil and a pinch of salt (and any other seasonings).

  • Make sure each slice has a light, even coating—don’t drench them.

4. 🍟 Air Fry

  • Preheat your air fryer to 360°F (180°C).

  • Arrange slices in a single layer (you may need to cook in batches).

  • Air fry for 10–15 minutes, shaking or flipping halfway through.

  • Watch closely near the end — they can go from perfect to burnt quickly!

5. ❄️ Cool & Serve

  • Let chips cool on a rack for a few minutes; they’ll crisp up even more as they cool.

  • Enjoy plain, or serve with dips like ranch, garlic aioli, or spicy ketchup.

💡 Tips for Success

  • Uniform thickness = even cooking.

  • If your chips are soggy, try raising the temp to 375°F (190°C) for the last 1–2 minutes.

  • You can also try sweet potatoes or beets for fun variations.

Would you like me to give you a salt & vinegar version (like the classic store-bought kind but homemade and extra tangy)?
