🧀 Air Fryer Mac and Cheese Balls

🛒 Ingredients (makes ~12–15 balls)

  • 3 cups cold leftover mac and cheese (homemade or boxed)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar (optional, for extra melt)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1½ cups seasoned breadcrumbs or panko
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Cooking spray or olive oil spray

🔪 Instructions

  1. Chill mac & cheese
    • Make sure mac and cheese is fully cold (this helps it hold together).
  2. Form balls
    • Scoop about 2 tbsp mac and cheese.
    • Press a little shredded cheese into the center if using.
    • Roll into tight balls. Freeze 20–30 minutes.
  3. Set up breading station
    • Bowl 1: flour
    • Bowl 2: eggs, beaten
    • Bowl 3: breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder and paprika
  4. Bread balls
    • Roll each ball in flour → egg → breadcrumbs.
    • For extra crunch, dip back into egg and breadcrumbs again.
  5. Air fry
    • Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
    • Lightly spray basket and balls with oil.
    • Air fry 8–10 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and crispy.
  6. Cool slightly & serve
