Posted on December 8, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Butter Toffee Pretzels—sweet, crunchy, and perfect as a snack or gift.

Ingredients (makes ~4 cups)

  • 4 cups mini pretzels (or broken pretzel sticks)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tbsp light corn syrup
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips (milk, dark, or semi-sweet)
  • Optional toppings: chopped nuts, sprinkles, or sea salt

Instructions

1. Preheat Oven

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Bake Pretzels (Optional)

  • Spread pretzels on the baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes to slightly toast.
  • Remove and set aside.

3. Make the Toffee

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Stir in brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt.
  3. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, and let boil for 3–4 minutes until smooth and slightly thickened.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.

4. Coat Pretzels

  • Pour the hot toffee over the pretzels and stir to coat evenly.

5. Bake

  • Spread the coated pretzels evenly on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Bake for 5–7 minutes to set the toffee.

6. Add Chocolate

  1. Let pretzels cool for 2–3 minutes.
  2. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the warm pretzels and let sit for a minute to soften.
  3. Spread the chocolate over the pretzels with a spatula.
  4. Optional: sprinkle chopped nuts or sea salt on top.

7. Cool Completely

  • Let pretzels cool completely until chocolate and toffee are firm.
  • Break apart and store in an airtight container.

Tips

  • For extra flavor, use dark chocolate and a pinch of cinnamon in the toffee.
  • You can also drizzle white chocolate on top for a festive look.
  • Store at room temperature for up to 1 week, or freeze for longer storage.

If you want, I can also give a microwave version that’s done in about 10 minutes with almost no cleanup. Do you want me to share that?
