Here’s a fun, festive, no-bake Christmas Chocolate Rice Krispie Balls recipe—perfect for holiday trays, gifting, or kids’ parties. They’re chocolatey, chewy, and easy to decorate!

🎄 Christmas Chocolate Rice Krispie Balls

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (or sunflower butter for nut-free)
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (milk or semi-sweet)
  • 1/2 cup mini marshmallows or 1/3 cup marshmallow fluff
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Holiday decorations: Christmas sprinkles, crushed candy canes, red/green nonpareils, or white chocolate drizzle

Instructions

1. Melt the base

In a saucepan over low heat, melt together:

  • Butter
  • Chocolate chips
  • Peanut butter

Stir until smooth.

2. Add marshmallows

Add mini marshmallows and stir until melted and fully combined.
(If using fluff, stir it in off the heat.)

3. Add cereal

Remove from heat and stir in:

  • Rice Krispies
  • Vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Mix until evenly coated.

4. Form the balls

  • Let mixture cool 5–10 minutes so it’s easier to handle.
  • Scoop and roll into 1-inch balls.
  • Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

5. Decorate

While still a little warm/sticky:

  • Roll in Christmas sprinkles,
    OR
  • Dip/drizzle with melted white chocolate,
    OR
  • Roll in crushed candy canes for peppermint crunch.

6. Chill

Refrigerate 20–30 minutes to set.
Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.

  • Mint chocolate: Add 1/4 tsp peppermint extract.
  • White chocolate version: Replace chocolate chips with white chocolate.
  • Hot cocoa balls: Add 2 tbsp hot cocoa mix and extra marshmallows.
