Air Fryer Fruit Scones Recipe

Posted on March 28, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a soft, fluffy, and lightly crisp Air Fryer Fruit Scones recipe—perfect for a quick tea-time treat 🍓

🍪 Ingredients (makes 6–8 scones)

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp cold butter (cubed)
  • ½ cup milk (plus extra for brushing)
  • ½ cup dried fruit (raisins, sultanas, or chopped dates)
  • Optional: ½ tsp vanilla extract

🔪 Instructions

  1. Mix dry ingredients:
In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add butter:
Rub in the cold butter using your fingers until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs.
  3. Add fruit:
Stir in the dried fruit evenly.
  4. Make the dough:
Add milk (and vanilla if using) and mix gently until a soft dough forms.
    ⚠️ Don’t overmix—this keeps the scones tender.
  5. Shape:
    • Turn dough onto a floured surface.
    • Pat into a 1-inch thick round.
    • Cut into wedges or use a cutter for rounds.
  6. Preheat air fryer:
    Set to 350°F (175°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  7. Cook:
    • Place scones in the basket (leave space between them).
    • Brush tops lightly with milk.
    • Air fry for 10–12 minutes until golden.
  8. Cool slightly & serve:
Best enjoyed warm with butter, jam, or cream.

💡 Tips for Perfect Scones

  • Keep ingredients cold, especially butter.
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer—cook in batches if needed.
  • For extra richness, replace some milk with cream.

✨ Optional add-ins:

  • Orange zest for a citrus twist
  • Chocolate chips instead of dried fruit
  • A light sugar sprinkle on top before baking for crunch

If you want, I can give you a bakery-style version with a super soft inside and golden crust, just like café scones.
