Bacon Cheddar Mini Cheese Balls are the perfect bite-sized appetizer for parties, gatherings, or a fun snack! These savory cheese balls are packed with the smoky flavor of bacon, sharp cheddar, and just the right amount of creaminess. Plus, they’re incredibly easy to make!


Bacon Cheddar Mini Cheese Balls Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup crispy bacon, chopped (about 6–8 slices)
  • 1 tbsp green onions (optional, for added flavor)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika (optional, for a smoky flavor)
  • ½ cup chopped pecans or parmesan cheese (optional, for rolling)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Bacon:
    • Cook the bacon until crispy (either in a pan or oven). Drain on paper towels and then chop into small pieces. Set aside.
  2. Mix the Cheese Ball Base:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, chopped bacon, green onions (optional), garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
    • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
    • Use a spoon or your hands to mix everything until well combined. The mixture should be smooth and creamy.
  3. Shape into Mini Balls:
    • Scoop out small portions of the mixture (about 1 tablespoon each) and roll them into small balls.
    • If the mixture is too sticky, you can chill it for 10–15 minutes in the fridge to firm up before shaping.
  4. Roll the Cheese Balls (Optional):
    • Roll the cheese balls in chopped pecans, parmesan cheese, or extra bacon bits for extra crunch and flavor. You can also roll them in a mix of paprika and garlic powder for more flavor on the outside.
  5. Chill:
    • Place the cheese balls on a baking sheet or platter and refrigerate them for about 30 minutes to help them firm up. This also allows the flavors to meld together.
  6. Serve:
    • Serve the mini cheese balls with crackers, fresh veggies, or bread slices.
