Chicken Parmesan with Bacon in a Slow Cooker

Posted on March 20, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a slow cooker recipe for Chicken Parmesan with Bacon—easy, flavorful, and perfect for a hands-off dinner:

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and chopped
  • 2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken: Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
  2. Layer in slow cooker:
    • Spread ½ cup of marinara sauce on the bottom of the slow cooker.
    • Place chicken breasts on top.
    • Sprinkle cooked bacon evenly over the chicken.
    • Pour remaining marinara sauce over the top.
  3. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours or high for 2–3 hours, until the chicken is cooked through (internal temp 165°F / 74°C).
  4. Add cheese: About 15 minutes before serving, sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan on top. Cover and let it melt.
  5. Serve: Garnish with fresh basil or parsley. Serve over pasta, rice, or with a side of vegetables.

💡 Tips:

  • For extra flavor, sear the chicken in a skillet for 2–3 minutes per side before adding to the slow cooker.
  • Use thick-cut bacon for more texture, or add more if you love bacon.
  • You can top with breadcrumbs and broil for 2–3 minutes after cooking for a crispier top.

This recipe gives you the classic Chicken Parmesan taste without heating up the oven—perfect for busy days.

If you want, I can also give a version with crispy bacon on top that stays crunchy even after slow cooking—it’s a nice twist.

Do you want me to provide that version?
