Mini Apple Pie (3 Apples)

Ingredients

  • 3 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well)
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (to thicken filling)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven:
    • 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the apples:
    • Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin wedges.
    • In a bowl, toss apples with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour, and lemon juice.
  3. Prepare the crust:
    • Roll out one pie crust and place in a 6–8 inch pie pan (or small baking dish).
    • Pour apple filling evenly into the crust.
  4. Top the pie:
    • Roll out second crust and place over the apples.
    • Trim excess, pinch edges to seal, and cut a few small slits on top for steam.
    • Brush the top with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  5. Bake:
    • 35–40 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and apples are tender.
  6. Cool and serve:
    • Let the pie cool 10–15 minutes before slicing.
    • Optional: Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
