Hard-boiled egg

Posted on February 7, 2026February 20, 2026 by Admin

Back to basics—let’s make a perfect hard-boiled egg 🥚✨ No gray ring, easy peel.

Foolproof Hard-Boiled Eggs

You’ll need

  • Eggs
  • Water
  • Ice

Steps

  1. Place eggs in a pot in a single layer. Add cold water to cover by ~1 inch.
  2. Bring to a rolling boil uncovered.
  3. Once boiling, turn off heat, cover, and let sit:
    • 10–11 minutes for fully set yolks
  4. Transfer immediately to an ice bath for 5–10 minutes.
  5. Tap, roll, and peel (start from the wide end).

Pro Tips

  • Slightly older eggs peel easier than super fresh ones.
  • Crack the bottom first—there’s usually an air pocket.
  • Peeling under running water helps slide the shell off.

Storage

  • Unpeeled: up to 7 days in the fridge
  • Peeled: 2–3 days, stored in a sealed container
